so im struggling with the whole putting up of pictures on this blog i dont think my computer agrees with me very much
not sure in which order these have come up
sorry for confusion in the previous post also i struggled

along the same lines as the forbidden kingdom, the greek portico is a symbol of authority and power as well as knowledge. heaps of school in america have front entrances like this. im not a real fan but if it could be abstracted a bit to fit in with the rest of the school it could look alright and not too wanker-ish

i like how the entrance is implied (in the photo taken at night) by the huge concrete looking wall as well as the different material. the way that its lit up differently to the rest of the building also helps to articulate the opening

entrances

entrances are a difficult part of the design process, however they offer good oppotunties to create really cool looking expressions.
i just google entrances to have a geez at some entrance ideas heaps of them were crap but there were a few cool ones

this is an actual school in america as you can tell.. nice and patriotic
i liked it because its pretty different from what you'd expect when visualising schools. i dont think its all that attractive but at least it doesnt scream 'school'
i really like this entrance because it involves a portico as well and doesnt just look like ti was slapped onto the front of the building

the forbidden city is all about symmetry and our master plan has a kind of symmetry to it so i thought we might be able to use some chinese elements somewhere..

this building isnt all that amazing but the way they have indicated where the door is is pretty cool
