our tetris building

heres a video of what or tetris classroom ended up looking like i think the rally bright colours are a bit much but they do reflect the age group of the kids learning there. the fly throughs in sketchup are a bit herd to control so theres a bit of going through walls and things but there wasnt much we could do to fix that

solar photovoltaic facade

looking for a way to incorporate solar panes into the design of a building is important because otherwise they end up just looking like ugly solar panels slapped on the roof which they often are
whilst doing so i came across this nice little number in mexico apparently by a danish crowd who's name im not too sure of.

unfortunately the solar panels block out a fair proportion of the possible view however i then came across another idea which helps to fix this small issue. i like the way the panels enhance the facade rather than detract from it.

tetris walls

the individual squares can be seperate panels which can be made of almost anything probably a similar insulating material as whats already in mod-5s. voids in the squares can be windows and tetris is somewhat of a logic game as well as the colours suiting a p-2 classroom
